St. Paul of the Cross saw in the Passion of Jesus “the greatest work of divine Love” and the revelation of the power of the Resurrection to overcome the forces of evil. Now more than ever do we need to share Christ’s message of love and hope to overcome the “evil” of Covid-19 that has spread across the globe. With the U.S. epicenter of the pandemic in New York, which houses our healthcare community of elderly Passionists, a retreat center and our offices, we ask for your prayers for all members of our family working to maintain our ministries. Equally, we offer our daily prayers for a swift end to this terrible tragedy and for each and every one of you and your families. We know that all will be affected in some way or another during this difficult time and endure a level of cost and uncertainty. As we pray for you, we remain here to serve and feel certain that our world will emerge from this situation stronger, better and more prepared for overcoming another inconceivable test such as this.

We eventually will attempt to resume a normal way of life whatever that may be for each of us, and as such, the Passionists promise to be a beacon of hope for all who seek the fulfillment and promise of Christ’s Passion and Resurrection. Please safeguard your families and loved ones, your first and top priorities, and ensure they are cared for and protected at all times. Then when life gets back to “normal”, we pray you will continue to sustain our programs, retreat centers, missions and other charitable works as you have done so for many generations.
